so anyway, I was going to post this on Saturday evening, but today seemed a better time.  Fifty years ago this evening, this was broadcast to the Nation:

Fifty years later and it all still rings true.  The numbers have gotten larger, sure, but the message is the same.  I have the audio on my mp3 player, it's the recording I listen to the most.
