so anyway, Texas Governor Rick Perry has declared today that he is a candidate for President.

A Simple Truth

sometimes needs to be repeated

so anyway, life continues at it's break-neck pace. I've been stewing over the whole debt ceiling debate and the subsequent credit downgrade, and one thought keeps popping up in the far recesses of my mind:

Raising tax rates does not automatically increase tax revenue,

whereas cutting federal spending always decreases the deficit.
