Undecided

I still do not have a clue...

so anyway, the primary polls open in nine and a half hours and I have yet to decide who I am voting for.  Mostly, I'll be voting against.  Mostly.

Laup Nor (to the un-initiated, read it backwards) is right out.  (True story: I used to live in his District, several lifetimes ago.  See also: Story, Long)

Newt? Ah, no.  Do I think he'd make a good President?  Maybe, probably.  I'm not giving any weight to the "un-electable" argument; remember, in the summer of 1980 Ronald Reagan was considered by many to be un-electable.  Newt represents a "target rich environment" for the democrats and the media (BIRM).

Romney?  He's the one with the baggage problem (Romneycare).  Uninspiring.  Running on his resume, rather than on a vision for the way forward.

Which leaves Santorum.  A couple of weeks ago, I was really starting to warm up to Santorum, but then he opened his mouth and crazy started pouring out.  Listen, I understand social issues.  I don't disagree with much of what he's saying, but to paraphrase Leslie Neilson in Airplane!: "...but, that's not important right now..."  We need to fix the fiscal right now, the social can wait.

meh.  It's gotten late early again.

Repeat Offender

I done did it again

so anyway, I have struck again.

Sam's Club, again.  Pump Number 2.  I'm planning on printing up much larger stickers once gas breaks into the $4.00/gal range.  At this pace, it will hit that price a week from Monday.

Seriously, I'm seeing $5/gal gas before Memorial Day.  Which forms a seal and applies suction, since I have a one way, 60 mile commute five days a week.

Shire Network News, RIP

I am not pleased with this turn of events

so anyway, after 189 podcasts, the good folks of Shire Network News have called it quits.  To Tom Paine, Brian of London, Meryl, Doug and the others I say Bravo!!! and thank you.

The link to their final podcast is here.  Hopefully, they'll keep their archives available.

Shire Network News was one of the first podcasts I regularly enjoyed.*  For an "amateur" podcast, the production values were excellent and I was always amazed at the quality of their featured interview guest.

And the snark.  Oh, yes, the snark.  World class, it was.  The "Defenders of the Anglosphere...through satire" was their tag line and they lived up to their billing.

To the crew of Shire Network News, I offer the Supply Side Politics 2.0 Award for General Outstandingness:  if any of you are ever near The Peoples' Republic of AnnArbor, I'll buy you not one, but two 40 oz quarts of your favorite beer and all the White Castles you can eat.

In other podcast news, on this week's Ricochet podcast, Peter Robinson breaks into an impromptu Richard Nixon impersonation that is just spot on.

*Actually, it was the second, Lilek's Diner was the first, but that's not important now.
