I need to replace my 31 year old mountain bike anyway...

so anyway, it looks like the latest trend in off-road biking is "fat bikes".  I want one

That's just the shit for me.  I try to be a year-round rider, with limited success.  I did manage to do five miles on my ancient Ross Mount Washington today (41°, with a bitch of a head-wind) to pick up my car from the garage (where I spent $1,000 that I do not have).

Big, fat, and knobby is just the ticket I'm lookin' for.

so anyway, I picked up the buzz from the Tweeple about this ass-hat "professor" arguing for the repeal of the 22nd amendment.

"The time has come to end presidential term limits, because continuing the restrictions on how long one can serve in the country's highest office is bad for the United States, a university professor argued this week.
In an opinion piece published in the Washington Post, Jonathan Zimmerman, a history and education professor at New York University, says deciding whether a president deserves a third, fourth or more terms should be left to the American people, not the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, which placed a two-term limit on the position."

Fuck.That.Shit.

You want to start talking about repealing Amendments?  Let's start with the 17th.  Then the 16th.  The 22nd is way far down the list.

From what I can tell from being on Twitter for less than a week, it is, one, fascinating; and two, a huge time-suck (hang on, I gots three five new tweets, need to go check).

It's fascinating in that one can directly address "famous" people; I had a brief exchange with Charles C. W. Cooke the other night, and have had Twits with Dave in Texas, Jimmie of Sundries Shack fame, and a few others.

It's a "time-suck" in that I owe my employer thirty hours of productive time.
