Tuesday Night Linkage

what, you'd rather hear more about the fish-tank?

And so it begins again.....

This story popped up a couple of months ago, now it looks like it is going to trial. Capt. Ed has the details.
Q and O has an interesting discussion on rights and how they exist

Right Wing News starts handicapping the '08 elections
I can't believe I missed this one on Friday; Peggy Noonan at WSJ-OJ

Michele Malkin has some funny at Ray Nagin's expense. I like the N.O.P.D. shirt the best.

PowerLine on the '06 mid-terms
I reserve the balance of my time and the right to revise and extend at a future date.
BTW, there's only 2,523 days left until the end of time. Please plan accordingly.

I gots nothing

freedom's just another word for "nothing left to post"

I'll be back soon with commentary and links of wonderment. Regular blogging activities were curtailed this evening by a pending disaster in the fish tank; but it's all better now.
More soon.

It's not just me

well, maybe it is me, just a little
Looks like I'm not the only one who's been having posts just up and go poof: Ragin_Dave of Four Right Wing Wackos fame has been having the same problem. I feel your pain, brother.
Slublog, posting at Ace's place, points us to Peggy Noonan at Opinion Journal (Note: I actually have not read the Noonan post yet, but her reputation precedes her.)
Cold Fury points out a quote by Ace that I missed somehow.
All together now: it's late.....

Tuesday linkage

Monday's got poofed

I am officially re-pissed off at Blogger, for losing my most excellent post last night. Anyway, here's todays link-dump, that I shared with my fellow worker-bees over lunch:

doG knows there's much more out there. I'm going to fisk the larry king transcript from Monday night in all my free time.

More soon (I hope, I haven't hit "Publish Post" yet)

One more thing

you knew this was coming

See also: Blogroll.

Go read Jeff Goldstein for an example of the kind of "dot connecting" I'm talking about. Who knows, you might even get to see a dancing armadillo.

Friday Evening Round Down

A long week it has been, says I. Arrrgh

I almost lost a TV set this week over the sponge ted square liver escapade during the Alito hearings. Fortunately, I was un-armed at the time, otherwise I would have "Elvis-ed" the TV.

But I'm much better now. So much better that I just listened to Kate Michaelman's statement without screaming at C-SPAN. I feel that I've achieved some personal growth.

Seriously, you should have seen the post I worked up on sponge ted square liver, but alas, it got poofed. Too bad, I even worked in the "Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment" line in my post about teddy k.
Turns out that Blogger will "time out" after a couple of hours; who knew? Anyway.....here's some of the stuff that caught my eye since we talked last:
For extra credit, you can write a 1,000 word essay on how the PowerLine really freakin' huge story and The Astute Blogger's post relate to each other....."connect the dots" so to speak. Your essay must be on my desk by COB on Monday, the 16th.

Much better now

seriously, set your TV to the "OFF" position

OK, so I'm still watching. Lindsey Graham is actually making sense. I've sent Conchita to the cellar for a fresh bottle.

I just had an epiphany: for the past couple of weeks, I have been e-mailing a couple of my new co-workers some selected VRWC links that I stumble upon during my lunchtime blog-surfing. Like, DUH! I should turn those lunch-time e-mails into posts here at SupplySidePolitics. I'll test the theory, starting tomorrow.

Damn, Graham is really making sense. And now he's bashing billy jeff blythe clinton and the ACLU. Lindsey, drinks are on me tonight!
oh gawd. chuckie schumer. I have the sudden urge to vomit. A.Lot.

Mixed blessings

be careful of what you ask for

so anyway, I get to the Command Computer on the Blogging Deck (actually located on Sub-Basement Level One) of the Starship Heywood at 9:20 PM, instead of around 11:00 PM as usual. I am geeked. I fire up the computer, dial up C-SPAN and get ready for an early night's blogging.

Then slow joe biden started talking. And the others. I stopped mixing drinks (as in 'and started drinking straight from the bottle') when feinstein started talking.

My first thought was to "live-blog" the event, but then I realized that I'm watching a tape delay of today's proceedings, so that was right out.

Gawd, and I'm such a total geek about this kind of stuff. I mean, politics is my favorite spectator sport.

And all the leftards fawning over O'Connor. Jebeezus. I gotta turn this off.

07 January 2006

I was hoping this year would be better

yeah, I know, I'm a hopeless optimist

Once a week posting was not my intent for the new year. I had been assured that my ISP would play nice with Blogger and vice versa. Apparently, someone has some serious 'splaining to do.

There's lots of stuff out there lately, but I'm constrained for time again (haven't we heard that before). Seriously, you should have seen the post I worked up on Wednesday night, it was the shiz-nit, but alas, it got poofed in the long running battle between Blogger and my ISP.

So anyway, I'll leave you with the two very bestest posts of the past ten days, both by Victor Davis Hanson.
From 29 December 2005, VDH's "The Plague of Success" and from 6 January 2006: "A Letter to the Europeans". Both are spot on, print them out, roll them up and whack a liberal with them as you see fit.
Elsewhere, I'm currently re-watching Jaws again for the eleventy-seventh time. Damn, it's good. Really, really good. Gotta go, Quint just scraped his finger-nails across the blackboard.
More soon.
