Pumpin' the pain

I don't see it coming down any time before November...

so anyway, driving home on Tuesday, I saw this:

I got a marginally better camera.  You're welcome

Driving past the same station last night (Thursday), I saw the price was up to $4.199.  I bet it will be over $4.25 this evening.  But fear not; the Obama Administration assures us that inflation is practically non-existent.

Monday, I tagged another pump as I filled up the Mighty CommuterMobile™

Sam's Club, Wixom, Michigan

Gas prices on the rise again

unexpectedly...but the Government assures me there's no inflation

so anyway, gas prices are back up in the $4.00+ / gallon range again...unexpectedly!  I decided it was time to break the pump tags out again

Sam's Club, pump No. 1 again (I'm a creature of habit).

Speaking of gas prices, a glimpse into the Hell that is my personal life.  True story: on Saturday, I drove TheMissus™ and the Genetical Twinlets to a "shamanism" event (it's a horridly long story, don't ask) in The Peoples' Repubic of AnnArbor.  Driving into the belly of the beast, we passed a BP station that was selling regular un-leaded (yes, I'm old enough to recognize that "regular un-leaded" is an oxymoron.  My lawn.  Get off it.) for $4.09 / gallon.

TheMissus™ saw the sign and said something to the effect of "....$4.09? $4.09 per gallon!?! That fucking George Bush just keeps fucking things up for this country..."

I shit you not.  Three and a half years into the worst Presidency and worst economy in the history of this great nation, and she's still blaming Bush 43.

Now, maybe, Dear Reader, you can see why I consider living alone in a 10' by 48' trailer on the outskirts of town a dramatic improvement to my personal quality of life.

Anyhoo, as Captain Smollett once said "I have either said too much or said too little"

Thanks, Barack

un-f'n-believable

sorry for the bad cell phone pic

so anyway, I had to stop at the licka-stow on my way back from a grueling 36 hours in Vandalia, Ohio (Business Travel! It's just like being on Vacation!!) and I saw this.

$4.199 per gallon.  Lodi Township, Michigan.  28MAR12.

Looks like I need to print up some bigger stickers.

Repeat Offender

I done did it again

so anyway, I have struck again.

Sam's Club, again.  Pump Number 2.  I'm planning on printing up much larger stickers once gas breaks into the $4.00/gal range.  At this pace, it will hit that price a week from Monday.

Seriously, I'm seeing $5/gal gas before Memorial Day.  Which forms a seal and applies suction, since I have a one way, 60 mile commute five days a week.

Serial Tagger

Yes, I am enjoying this whole "activism" thingie

Sam's Club, again. Pump #1 this time. As an added bonus, you can almost read the text on the sticker.

I have struck again

activism is FUN

so anyway, I tagged another pump late this afternoon:

I tagged both the per gallon price and the total sale price at the Speedway on Michigan Avenue in Saline, Michigan. Yes, I paid $4.159 / gallon for gas.

YourDaddy's Politics has a video round up of the Gas Roots Movement's escapades. Disrupt the Narrative has the "Promise Kept" graphic in Spanish.

Mission Accomplished (Again)

I told you I was doing this

so anyway, I tagged a pump at the Lodi Market in Saline, Michigan with a "This gas price brought to you by Barack Obama" sticker this evening. Circumstance conspired against me getting a picture, if I have time I'll swing by and grab a pic on the way to my Stoopid Business™ job in the morning.

The funny thing is, I wasn't even getting gas! I had stopped to replenish the Val-U-Rite supply, and when I was heading back to the commuter-mobile I saw that the pumps were vacant.

WINNING!!!! (or whatever the kids are saying these days)

Gas Root Activism

I'm doin' it

so anyway, I have begun my (admittedly low key) activism, as I mentioned on Monday night.

There's a long, drawn out story behind tonight's activities, but it will have to wait. I'll give you the Joe Friday version ("just the facts")

I tagged pump #2 at the Sam's Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan this evening. I opted for the peel-n-stick label with "This gas price brought to you by Barack Obama" because the color printer at the office was FUBAR, so I couldn't use P.Henry Saddleburr's excellent graphic. Hell, I fill up every third day, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to spread the wealth around.

If you tag any pumps, send me a pic and I'll post it on the inter-tube web-net thingie.

we'll have words again real soon.

Pain at the Pump

I am so doing this

so anyway, this is what all the cool kids are doing these days....

The idea is to print up a few copies of this, and post it on the pump the next time you fill up your tank. Disrupt the Narrative has the details, as well as the source code for the pic. Do go read soonest. A similar plan can be found here.

I'll post a pic when I pull this off. H/T to Ace and Glenn for the inspirational linkage.
